Note Zimbabwe Portrait is composed of more than 300 colour photographs culled from past issues of the well-known ‘Africa Calls’ and ‘In-Flight’ magazines and accompanied by a text by Dick Pitman, a leading Zimbabwean writer.
For many years the country was ignored by the outside world. However, since independence in 1980 Zimbabwe has emerged as one of Africa’s leading tourist attractions.
This growing reputation has sprung from the beauty of such places as the Victoria Falls, the Hwange National Park, Lake Kariba and the Zambezi Valley.
But its cities, agriculture and industries have also played their part, along with the Great Zimbabwe and other historical sites that point to an illustrious past.
All are portrayed within the pages of Zimbabwe Portrait, an armchair journey in colour through some of the most beautiful and interesting places in Africa.
It is intended that this book should be the first in a series of prestige colour journals chronicling Zimbabwe’s tourism and wildlife potential.
