This essay examines one of the major attractions of the African Zionist movement for the indigenous population of Rhodesia. It is based on the personal testimonies of numerous Zionists. on the author’s observations of faith healing technique in the colonies of prophetic healers and on an analysis of the contents of sermons obtained during a two and a half-year period (1965–1977) of research in the central and south-eastern parts of the country.
